INFECTUS / ARGON 9 WIRES FIRMWARE... coming soon

We are happy to announce that in development is a new cool firmware for ARGON/INFECTUS, a more superior firmware than the current "9 wires wasabi" competitor. See the unbelivable functions that will be supported::
INFECTUS2:
1- Supports all chipset versions: DMS, D2A, D2B and D2C (including D1A)
2- ONLY 9+1(clock) WIRES on D2C
3- ONLY 5+1(clock) WIRES on DMS, D2A, D2B
4- On-board flash (512KB) (wasabi only 128KB)
5- DVD "SOFT" UPDATE + JTAG "COMPLETE" UPDATE
ARGON:
1- Supports all chipset versions: DMS, D2A, D2B and D2C (including D1A)
2- ONLY 9+1(clock) WIRES on D2C
3- ONLY 5+1(clock) WIRES on DMS, D2A, D2B
4- On-board flash (256KB) (wasabi only 128KB)*
5- DVD "SOFT" UPDATE + JTAG "COMPLETE" UPDATE**
* Old users can install the flash on ARGON without any problems, new ARGON in arrival in the week of the 24th of March and in the future we will have the SPI FLASH on board. Cost of the SPI flash is arround 0.5 USD...
** dvd update will be developed for argon AFTER infectus2...
THE "BULLSHIT" DVD UPDATE FEATURE WILL BE SUPPORTED WITH INFECTUS2, AND IN SECOND TIME ON ARGON. We remember that ONLY modchips like ARGON / INFECTUS2 / D2PRO can release BIG LOGICAL UPDATES on firmwares, wasabi cannot change the ACTEL FPGA code, and this is a BIG LIMIT for future applications. Only to demostrate that we have the know how to do the same like wasabi, we will release this feature that for us is unusefull...
REMEMBER!
DVD UPDATE = OLD AND LIMITED UPDATE SYSTEM (LIKE OLD WIIKEY) - Limited data update.
JTAG UPDATE = NEW ERA OF MODCHIPS UPDATE SYSTEM (D2PRO / INFECTUS / ARGON) - Full logical data update
Last thing, we remember that in development are other firmwares (like PS3 firmware) for INFECTUS and ARGON, wasabi can work only on WII... JTAG modchips can work on many differents consoles... just a .DAT file is necessary to use ARGON in a PS3 in a near future...
The clever "SELLERS", keep stock only of cool and strategic HARDWARE.
FAQ
1- When new 9 wires firmware will be available?
We think to finish the firmware within 15 days, before we will release some BETA to mass testing...
2- Current argon works with 9 wires firmware?
ARGON have a space on PCB near connector to install a SPI FLASH, new stocks in production ready for week of 24th came with SPI FLASH on board... the old argon can be update if necessary with a SPI flash, just solder it on PCB of argon... cost is very few like 0.5 USD... we will provide this kind of flash for selling to our users if they want... flash have easy pins to solde, about 1 min of works
3- INFECTUS2 hardware is the same like WASABI?
Well is much better, instead a flash of 128Kb it have 512kb with switches and all.. so don't worry INFECTUS2 is 10 times powerfull than WASABI hardware.
4- DVD UPDATE FEATURE IS AVAILABLE ON INFECTUS2 and ARGON?
The "old" dvd update feature is supported in the new firmware... we will use this way to "soft" update of the modchip, but if is necessary to do a BIG change in the architecture of modchip to support new games and WII updates we can release new .DAT files and with JTAG you are full covered again all possible problems.
WASABI can only do a "soft" "partial" data update, ARGON and INFECTUS2 will have "soft" and "partial" data update and JTAG update... at same price!!!
5- Why ARGON and INFECTUS2 have 1 clock wire more than WASABI?
Simple, wasabi have an oscillator on board that miss in our project.. we need to keep the clock from the board of WII...

Great news! Getting less and less wires on the D2C is great! I still have some Argons here so I will "update" them with the flash and way to go without buying another modchips. Great work man!
Also, I noticed that this is second time you mention there will be a PS3 firmware. First quoting of this firm from your part on the "Argon Stay With Us" topic was kinda.... "maybe we'll have it, maybe not"... now you've confirmed you're working on it. Any info on that?
I'm not asking for a release date (well... if you have it... it won't hurt ), but more technical info, about if it's a drive mod or a bios mod, if you managed to break hypervisor security and things like that.
Thanks again for the news!!

Like mike234 asked.
Do u have to install that SPI FLASH?
Or will there still be updates for those users without it?
Otherwise the resellers of the argon will have a lot of work to do, again

Few answers
1- ARGON 9 WIRES will be a new firmware with a different concept than 17 wires version...
2- Support for 17 wires continue for EVER, in parallel with new 9 wires firmware... don't worry about that 17 wires users
3- WASABI copied an old work of ORIGA brothers, develope of whole infectus project... the space for SPI FLASH on argon is there because we tought to release few wires solution, simple wasabi arrived before us... not a BIG problem with a JTAG PROJECT hehe

We need the new install diagrams
Kinda sucks that the old argon users (specially those who will be receiving there chips soon[me!]), will not be able to use the new 9 wire install without purchasing this SPI FLASH, that needs to be soldered to the pcb.
Now I have the choice of waiting for the SPI FLASH to hit resellers, so I can go with the 9+1 wire install, or just go ahead with the 13+4 install.... I hate waiting though, so I will probably go with the old method, and prey that the team brings every feature to each version of the install/argon.

I am in the same boat as you Takenover83. After doing A LOT of research on which chip to buy I ordered the Argon 2 days before they announce the 9+1 chip! It is a little frustrating, but I am sure I will be happy with Infectus.

Even though i've been one of those who hated the argon since the day I mass installed only to find out it had buggy firmware, I kind of am glad, and predicted, this would happen.
Firstly, grats and job well done but,
if the firmware proves to freeze or cause problems that needs more components, i'll boycott the chip and never look at it again. Currently using the d2pro, but if this proves to be working well, will switch over to it. Currently installing over 20 d2pros on machines a week 5 working days.
Again, great work, just what I expected, and lets hope it only requires one try to make this worth while.

If you mass install a newly released chip then you take the risk yourself a bit.. strange to blame it all on infectus while they solved all problems in a couple of weeks. Not the same as your beloved wiikey/d2ckey/d2pro team isn't it...Did you abandon d2ckey when you "mass installed" their crappy pre release chips? Did you abandon wiikey when they didn't have audio fix while promised,or don't have support for original dl discs?
Anyway enough of this nonsense. Would actually be time for those d2pro ass lickers to start think of the possibilities of infectus and their continued hard work.

hmmm the space was there from the first release already.... It was then already possible to release a 9 wire version instead of the 13+4???
For what purposes will the SPI be used?
