What methode would then be better/easer/saver (beter backup disk handeling):
Patching the code in realtime
or
Uploading the hacked code
Uploading the hacked code into a serial port like the older chips do is much more stable. Once the code is in no more patching is needed untill the drive resets.
The much more complicated "on the fly" patching method was only used since nintendo closed their serial port acces used on the older chips (so they thought).

The answer wasn't given before,

If you have the Infectus² installed with the 17 wires.
Is it possible then to use the Wasabi firmware on that same chip?
Or do the schematics totally differ from each other, and you have to use other solder points?

it's totally different. you can't use the 9 wire firmware on a 17 wire installed chip. why do you care for that. It has the same features once installed

tbh..the installing of the wires (old diagram) is pretty easy...took me 20 minutes to solder 2 boards completly...(usin alternative points)...
if only 9 wires with FW 1.9 i guess everyone should be able to do it in maybe 10-15 minutes...
but it`s nice, that the d2b boards will be supported....

I agree that the current install isn't difficult, but compared to the Wasabi install points...
thats why i am usin alternative points...u cant solder two pins by accident or something...i got a customer this morning, and it took me less than 25 minutes to finish a complete wii incl. disassemblin and assemblin again..and if u got some kind of normal/soldering equipment,a good loupe, and some experience in soldering u can do it in less than 1 hour too...
I have never seen the Wasabi install diagram, cause a) I dont install that chip b) I have seen a lot of chips comin and goin and only the good ones will stay on the market...best example is Matrix Infinity for PS2...
so far so good...
Keep goin with the work Team Infectus, u are doin a great job

The wire count is not the most important thing about wasabi. It is indeed nice that only 3 wires need to be soldered on pins or vias. It's much more important we finally have a real way into the d2c chip instead of just patching dataline calls.
Anyway since the same thing comes to argon/infectus too this is offcourse superior to wasabi becuz of the reliable jtag system. Hope this competiton will result in the prices to drop though.

I have never seen the Wasabi install diagram, cause a) I dont install that chip

I'm sure your soldering is fantastic, but that was never the point of my post. I know the Argon 17 wire install isn't difficult. But no matter how easy you find it, the Wasabi install is even easier, and therefor quicker.
I'm only guessing the Argon 9 wire install will use the same points, but if it does, then everyones installs are going to be MUCH easier.

Argon's 9 wire points will be the same I guess + 1 clck wire (I dunno why they call it 9+1 instead of just 10 wire, looks like the +1 isn't really optional but is needed)

pardon me for my slow nature of understanding.

meaning once the firmware comes out, i can desolder some of the wires in my current 17 wires install and make it 9 after i pump in the "new" firmware?

If want to move to the 9 wire FW, then yes, you will have to reinstall some/all of the wires. Looking at the Wasabi install, most are to solder pads, with only 3 to IC pins/vias.

WASABI = XXXXX

is confirmed... hehe I think that we will see a BIG fight in the net with WASABI vs INFECTUS / ARGON / D2PRO...

Guys we need your helps.. sure 100% XXXXX NETWORK will start a disinformation strategy on the net... like many times they did in the past (expecially with maxconsole)... so pls. pay attention on the net and try to fight any disinformation strategy that sure we will see arround many forums in the net..

I have proof of many "funny" comments made from MAX XXXXX to many our resellers about us... hehe sure is scare that our startegy will give some little problems to wasabi sells...

bye bye

I'll just get wasabi because I know it's already there.
Future is a little unpredictable. Get what is best available in the present.
Wasabi did what people thought it's impossible.

LOL...I love seeing shit like that.  How do you know it is already there?  Have you installed one.  Have you tested it with mass Wii/GC games like some of the supporters here have?  Finally....do you not understand the principle of Jtag vs DVD update?  If so why are you still choosing a chip that cost the same amount and gives you less?
Can't wait for a big update that will close the door on DVD uprade

Some resellers have them in stock now. I'm sure the wasabi guys won't put their chip in production if it doesn't work because they'll lose income. Do I understand the principle of Jtag? I'm an electronic engineer. I'm buying their knowledge, not their chips. If it doesn't work? I'll just get Infectus2.

Can the SPI flash be bought from any other site or is this going to be specific for the ARGON itself.

If it will be specific and only be available through HARDMODSTORE when will it be in stock?

Would be nice to have and install the SPI flash before the diagram and firmware is realesd.
