Nice one iDog but it doesn't actually refer to D2C2 being worked on or release dates of firmware.

It would be practical if Oscar opened another post 'D2C2 support coming soon!' or alike... anyway I guess once the firmware is release next month they will start a new thread.

As for the beta testers.. told you so.  There are some very reputable installers out there, Ozmods, Canadamods, Modmonkey, Westek who really should be on the beta testers list... These guys often nut out problems with modchips on the market and will not leak the code.

The release for sure will be as a beta but as long as D2C2 works (may have issues with eject) then it's a start.

A lot of Infectus's time has been spent lately on a new project of theirs.  I doubt it will be an entire new modchip but they're very secretive of it.  I can confirm that though that it is Wii related.

Not true.  They are quite scattered.  I've modded both a LEH184 and LEH185 that were not D2C2.  I had a 187 and 188 that were D2C2 so i think after 187 for sure they are all D2C2 but between 184 and 186 they are mostly D2C2 but not necessarily.

I have modded a LEH1889, it's not D2C2, but only argon 9 wires works.
If firmware 1.8 dont works, try wasabus 1.1 on LEH18 < LEF1009

-- Honestly ? I can't help but taking this with a few grains of salt.. in other words.. I don't believe Oscar anymore. I suspect him to be making up stories to convince us to not buy competitors chips and wait.. because they are in the process of betatesting this new firmware.. uhu.. sure.. ok.. so.. how's about some of these betatesters chime in.. let them state their serialnumbers, whereabouts, games tested.. whatever.. anything more concrete than '10 betatesters around the world..'

Hehe,

today we started the BETA TESTING with about 10 users arround the world... if we are lucky this weekend all is online and working, if not on monday...

I know, we must be patient... and yes, we should not complain. But please, let this be THE DAY.

But I am afraid we are not lucky so then it will be monday you say. Well, in that case everybody still would be happy. So delight us !!

I wonder if the guys from Infectus read this stuff too :

http://wiinewz.com/forums/d2pro/69299-d2pro9-rev2-killing-drives.html

It would be a bummer if the Argon exhibits the same 'killer instinct' once the new firmware is released

To be specific, I would be reassured if Oscar acknowledged this behavior and MAYBE it is Nintendo's turn to strike back.. (the comment about nr_reader being a honeypot might hold some truth to it)...

hi there, i agree...but this is only reported on what a few drives out of thousands......could of been bad installs, static , if your soldering skills arnt quite right or you dont have the right tools, this sort of thing can happen....

anyway ....lets hope the 10 beta testers are happy and this firmware gets released tommorow......

another thing as well is the newer wiis...come in 2 forms......

1. only has d2c wrote on the chip

2.newer wiis are back on a 2 lines of text on the chip....

is there any difference . remains to be seen.... apart from its been reported that the newer wiis with the 2 lines of text doesnt seem to be hampered with the usual problems of the d2pro9 d2c2.......

Well I understand all the complaints on this forum about updates...
we wasn't here to sleep, but instead came here and write every 2 minutes tomorrow is better to came here and write I HAVE THE BETA WORKING IN THE HANDS

Today is the day...!!

Than about reasons to switch to other modchips!! I can only tell that soon we will came out with a new MODCHIP that bring us again on first place of the competition..

ONLY SUGGESTION! DON'T STOCK TOO MUCH D2PRO or WASABI... THE THINGS WILL CHANGE VERY SOOON
WHO WILL STOCK ARGON AND BELIVE IN US WILL NOT LOSE NOTHING, like ever... who will buy D2PRO now don't know if tomorrow D2C3 will be supported or need to buy again a new modchip... sure here will not happen

Remember that we aren't chinese peoples and back of infectus there is the STORY of console modding ...

There are heaps of problemsome D2Pros out there from their new batch.. appears to be poor soldering on the crystal and diode that may be making the chip unstable and in turn even killing consoles.

I don't think Argon will have this issue as their defect rate is quite low (i've had 1 in 500 chips definitely defective and another had misaligned resistor/cap).

Counting down the hours til tomorrow night
