Anyone got Super Mario Sunshine to work yet ?
If not is there going to be another fix to come out for more GC support or is that it now ?
+1 I still can't get Mario Sunshine to work. It freeze at the load screen with a little green line at the bottom left hand corner.
BTW, it's a NTSC iso on a PAL Wii.
Mario Sunshine works fine for me but mine is NTSC on NTSC(U) Wii.
A few things you could try...
Use a GcOS boot disc to boot the game.
Set the Wii output to 60Hz to play the game.
mario sunshine doesn't work for me, ntsc(u) on ntsc(u) wii
did you play a lot of it? mine stops working after getting several stars, i had about 5, still first stage though
and before someone says it's crappy media or a bad img of the game, i used the same media i use for all my wii games that all work perfect (verbatim) and the same source i download all my wii games (newsgroups)

Yes I have played almost through the hole game. So it is either a media issue or IMG or laser is dying.

Hello,
Can you tell me if the firmware of the 17 wires version will be update in the future?
For exemple, a revision for the D2C2 will be avaible?
This is an important question that needs to be answered. I'd rather have a 17 wire FW working on all D2C drives, than a flaky 9 wire install that works on some D2C drives. I think infectus should look at this first (and if they have, tell us their thoughts).

Just yesterday inside italian forum Titty has reported Infectus' thought about that.
Porting 13 wire install on d2c2 can't work because Big N closed some gates on newer chipset making it impossible.
Maybe Infectus will find the time to give us more details... or maybe not.

Cheers for that. Wish I could read Italian!
Here's hoping they get the 9 wire solution sorted then. I'm happy to wait for solid solution though, don't want a rushed out buggy FW.

The laser reads all my backups fine, the media plays all my backups fine and I have never downloaded a 'bad img'.
Other people are still having issues with Super Mario Sunshine. It's not any of those things that are causing the problem

Earlier in this thread, I mention using a utility, FSTFIX (version 1.5F) to increase compatibility with GC games and the Argon 1.8 Give this a try -- it has helped me with Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness and Luigi's Mansion (which are the only three I've played serioisly so far, and all were locking up)
Use "FSTFIX IMAGE.iso t s g"
If you have audio issues, you can try without the audio stream fix. I never had a problem using the audio stream fix option as of yet.
Just use IMGBurn to read the GC image off the DVD back to an ISO, then burn the fixed IMG back to a new disc.

That has nothing to do with the DVD drive firmware. Booting those discs is decided by the Wii's own firmware, which has yet to be hacked fully. The Infectus/Argon will never allow for something like that in its current state.
