@flash78 - I installed my infectus the opposite way round, all wires are really short that way. Not had any issues so far (might be worth trying)

I said I converted my 14 wire alternate install into the 9 wire install using the same conversion posted by krayziexploiter

Sorry TD I missed your first post that stated that.
Thanks again, I have used the alternate install.

I'm running into an issue hopefully someone can help.

I finished my install and I placed in a game and it took over 30 seconds to initialize the drive. After it failed to read the disc (original and backup). I went back and shortened the U wire and now the drive initializes like it normally would, however, I still get a disc read error (original and backup).

Some background information:
I had all wires but except P, Q, T, GND, & 5v and all original games worked.
When I soldered P, Q, T, GND, & 5v is when I got the read error.

I read over the threads and I didn't see anyone with these issues.
Any ideas?
Is it my installation, any idea where I can check?

Also, this is a USA wii D2C

Thanks,
lix

I repeat the same thing always:

1 - Wii off
2 - Insert Disc for  init Wii
3 - Many times wii boot witout any problem
3 - Some times delayed 10 - 45 sec to init dvd drive
3 - Rarely dvd drive don't init and dont take dvd disc
4 - Switch Off Wii (don't have wiiconnect).

I have the same problem (I used the new U point).  There are a lot of problems with the insertion/ejection of the disk because while inserting or ejecting a disk it seems that the infectus goes out of sync (blu led OFF).

You didn't say whether or not you soldered the Region-patching wires. You need to solder I and G to ground.

Sorry TD, I have an infectus 2.
I don't need to do that for v2 right, that's only for v1?

Thanks

My mistake. I must've missed that in your posts.

You need to leave the programmer connected and flip switch 1 AND 2 both to the ON position for a USA Wii.

I programmed the infectus2 before I soldered it in, with the USA configuration.
Would I still need to connect it?

Thanks again

Yes. I believe the programmer needs to be connected at all times. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's worth a shot.

Maybe Infectus can also say whether or not the I/G wires work for the Infectus2. That seems like an easier way to configure it than using the programmer.

Hey Td,

Thanks for all the help. I thought the programmer was needed only to program, however it is needed for the chip to work.
Once I attached it everything started working. Thanks again!!

Infectus way to go!

Cheers,

I'm pretty sure the I/G ground bridges should also work on infectus2. The code is exactly the same.

Hey there,

This is a common problem with the Wasabi as well, so the Wiiktus will work. Good luck on it.
