Hi,
I am new to the world of chipping, I have a d2c wii and I have preordered infectus2. I bought it mostly for the backup feature but i noticed in the download section under the argon firmware 1.3 they will be supporting import games. What is an import game? Also will this firmware update be made available for the infectus chip?

thanx in advance

imports are games of a different region than your country/console.

Thank you Arakon. Do you know if the import update will also be available for the infectus chip?

I'm sure it will come eventually for the infectus too.

Hi, I'm very confused..
So if I'm using a NTSC/U Wii soldered with Argon(13 wires), I can't play NTSC/J or PAL games?

Only if I solder the Argon with 16 wires, I can play NTSC/J or PAL games?

Correct..

Or you can try WiiFrii and manually change the region code on the game ISO.

Not that I want to confuse anyone but i surely am confused. I currently have Infectus1 with v1.2 inside my WII. I tried WiiFrii on an NTSC-U ISO and converted it into Pal but still it woudn't load! Im not sure what WiiFrii does but it surely is not letting me boot ntsc on my pal wii...

Thanks

again, it depends on the game. the same games that can't play with a modchip, can't play with a software patch either.

So lets say if I soldered the additional wires. Would it mean :
I won't be able to play SMG(NTSC-J) version but I'll be able to play No More Heroes(NTSC-J)?

given they are compatible, yes.

That list also applies to all import-capable modchips.
