INFECTUS TEAM - ARGON SPI - 9 WIRES FIRMWARE BETA RELEASE
"BETA .DAT FIRMWARE ONLY FOR ARGON WITH ACTEL A3P250"
the version A3P125 will be available on monday!!!!

Download all here:
http://www.infectus.biz/downloads/ARGON-SPI-9WIRES-BETA.zip

In this ZIP fill you will find these things:

1- INFECTUS PROGRAMMER, beta version to manage correctly ARGON SPI update
2- wasabus_argon.bin, this is the firwmare that is necessary to flash inside the SPI flash of ARGON
3- wasabus_a.dat, this is the new ACTEL firmware to support 9 wires installation

Procedure to upgrade ARGON SPI with new WASABUS FIRMWARE 9 WIRES:

1- Install the new programmer (use the DLL of the official version
2- TOOLS > OPEN INFECTUS load the "wasabus_a.dat" and program the ARGON like other firmwares
3- EXIT FROM "OPEN INFECTUS" MENU
4- DISCONNECT THE INJECTUS PROGRAMMER FROM USB AND RECONNECT
5- ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER THE PROGRAMMER WILL SHOW THE SPI FLASH ID (is very important that there is the PART NO. PM25LV020)
6- GO TO MENU "FLASH COMMAND" > SELECT ERASE and than WRITE (select the file wasabus_argon.bin) and wait the flashing procedure.

WASABUS debug LEDS:

The LED on the ARGON will show you if modchip is correctly working or not, is very simple

LED OFF = Don't works
LED ON = Code injection procedure is complete

REGIONAL SETUP:
Current firmware is setup by default like PAL, and in the next revision we will use two ARGON pads to configure the regional version.

NEW COOL FEATURE WITH INJECTUS CONNECTED:
The new firmware allow the users to leave INJECTUS PROGRAMMER connected to the modchip and use the SWITCHES and LED to understand the modchip status.

Pls. remove the USB cable from PC when you use INJECTUS to configure ARGON and check ARGON STATUS.

When argon is correctly working the INJECTUS will show GREEN LED ON, if the LED IS RED, the modchip is OFF.

The switch allow to configure regional configuration or switch off the modchip the combinations are:

Switch 1 = Off
Switch 2 = Off >>> PAL firmware
Switch 1 = On
Switch 2 = On  >>> Modchip disabled
Switch 1 = On
Switch 2 = Off >>> JAP firmware
Switch 1 = Off
Switch 2 = On  >>> USA firmware

(well for a little confusion when the developer compiled the code probably the combination for USA or JAP is inverted... sorry for the problem.. but we want to release this beta ASAP)

KNOW ISSUES:
1- The modchip used in combination with INJECTUS has some electrical interferences... so many times this firmware give some problems with INJECTUS and FLAT CABLE connected.
We will release on MONDAY a firmware that fix this problem.

2- On monday we will release infos about PADS on modchip to configure the regional setting, right now it is possible only trought INJECTUS connected to modchip.

3- On monday we will release infos about PADS on modchip to switch OFF the ARGON, this can be nice for users that want to complete switch off the modchip.

4- The code right now is not stable for some things to fix, we are working on that...

IMPOTANT! THIS FIRMWARE IS BETA AND IS RELEASED ONLY FOR "BETA TESTING" DON'T USE THIS FIRMWARE LIKE FINAL FIRMWARE!
------
THANX FOR ALL
INFECTUS TEAM

Yes, of course. No where to put the Wasabi bin if you dont have the SPI.

OK well surprise surprise its not good news for the BETA.

Got Argon Red dot with A3P250 and SPI
Flashed firmware with Wasabus_a.dat reconnected then SPI was detected.
Erased the SPI installed the and  wasabus_argon.bin file to Bank 0
Flashed successful
Chips seemed to program fine.

Removed my 17 wire Argon and replaced it with the 9 wire install and chip.

Behold not working:
Most of the time the drive doesn’t activate and when it does I put a disc (backup) in and it wont boot.
The blue LED never comes on.
I have the programmer connected to argon and tried all the dip settings and no difference.
Only when it is set to modchip disable the wii works booting original only (obviously)
I have tried re programming the chip and tried bank 0 and 1
I have tried a new ribbon cable.
I have checked the install many time with a multimeter, it is correct.
The usb lead in NOT connected
I have tried an extra long C wire and the drive boots up better but it makes no difference to the blue LED that will not turn on not matter what I try.
I have 3V and earth at the chip and all wires are correct see pic below.

try:
wii -> OFF
connect programmer to the argon..
put both switches  ON (disable chip)
turn the wii -> ON..
when in mainmenu turn both switches OFF

then put in a game.. and the light should turn from red to green

tested on PAL Wii
