Hello!

Sorry for the double post, but i have no answer:

When i order an ARGON with SPI Flash, can i connect this with 13 wires to the Wii with D2C board ?
I want to use the Wii-Clip, and this is for the 13 wire connection at the moment.

Yes, you can, but the Wii-Clips are not supported nor recommended. They rarely work as well as a real installation. Put the 20-30 bucks towards getting the chip installed by a professional.

I know soldering is better, but when there is a problem with the wii i can remove the chip and the warranty is not lost. Ok, for this i must open the wii careful.
But if it soldered, you can not remove all solder signs.

On the Wii-Clip page there was a info, now Argon will be supported.

Anyone here with an Wii-Clip ?

Note: Wii-Clip is not the "Wlip" ... this is a very bad product

Your Warranty is void as soon as you open the Wii. Nintendo will most likely be able to tell it was opened just due to how you have to open the Wii. As for "not supported", I simply meant it wasn't supported by Team Infectus, so you won't get much support here if you have issues with a WiiClip installation.

Modding a game console is not for everybody. If you're not willing to take risks (such as losing your warranty), you may be better off just not modding it. That's my opinion anyway.

Ah, ok.
I have mod to PSP many years ago :-)
I think it will be not a big problem for me to solder, but the risk that "N" say my warranty will lost is greater whenn i solder.

Ok, thanks for your answer !

I have seen a few with great results using WII-CLIP V2 for ARGON. I have only come across 1 user that said he had bought 2 of them. 1 worked perfectly fine and the other did not so he was returning the 1 that he had issues with. other then that seems the few that have reported buying and using the Wii_clip for ARGON have had great success.

I have also heard of 1 that used it on an Infectus 2. The PCB doesn't line up but they said it was easier connecting from PCB to Infectus 2 rather then on the IC legs to infectus 2.

I spent close to $70 on Pro instilation for ARGON. Wished the Wii-Clip was out when I orignaly bought my ARGON. $35 is better then $70 on instilation.

There is no firmware for the D2B drives yet.
Wait a week or so.
Only for D2C drives for now

Hello,

Should we wait for a long time leaving the argon 9 wires ?

Thx

We are happy to announce that in development is a new cool firmware for ARGON/INFECTUS, a more superior firmware than the current "9 wires wasabi" competitor. See the unbelivable functions that will be supported::

INFECTUS2:
1- Supports all chipset versions: DMS, D2A, D2B and D2C (including D1A)
2- ONLY 9+1(clock) WIRES on D2C
3- ONLY 5+1(clock) WIRES on DMS, D2A, D2B
4- On-board flash (512KB) (wasabi only 128KB)
5- DVD "SOFT" UPDATE + JTAG "COMPLETE" UPDATE

ARGON:
1- Supports all chipset versions: DMS, D2A, D2B and D2C (including D1A)
2- ONLY 9+1(clock) WIRES on D2C
3- ONLY 5+1(clock) WIRES on DMS, D2A, D2B
4- On-board flash (256KB) (wasabi only 128KB)*
5- DVD "SOFT" UPDATE + JTAG "COMPLETE" UPDATE**
* Old users can install the flash on ARGON without any problems, new ARGON in arrival in the week of the 24th of March and in the future we will have the SPI FLASH on board. Cost of the  SPI flash is arround 0.5 USD...
** dvd update will be developed for argon AFTER infectus2...

THE "BULLSHIT" DVD UPDATE FEATURE WILL BE SUPPORTED WITH INFECTUS2, AND IN SECOND TIME ON ARGON. We remember that ONLY modchips like ARGON / INFECTUS2 / D2PRO can release BIG LOGICAL UPDATES on firmwares, wasabi cannot change the ACTEL FPGA code, and this is a BIG LIMIT for future applications. Only to demostrate that we have the know how to do the same like wasabi, we will release this feature that for us is unusefull...

REMEMBER!
DVD UPDATE = OLD AND LIMITED UPDATE SYSTEM (LIKE OLD WIIKEY) - Limited data update.
JTAG UPDATE = NEW ERA OF MODCHIPS UPDATE SYSTEM (D2PRO / INFECTUS / ARGON) - Full logical data update

Last thing, we remember that in development are other firmwares (like PS3 firmware) for INFECTUS and ARGON, wasabi can work only on WII... JTAG modchips can work on many differents consoles... just a .DAT file is necessary to use ARGON in a PS3 in a near future...
The clever "SELLERS", keep stock only of cool and strategic HARDWARE.

FAQ

1- When  new 9 wires firmware will be available?
We think to finish the firmware within 15 days, before we will release some BETA to mass testing...

2- Current argon works with 9 wires firmware?
ARGON have a space on PCB near connector to install a SPI FLASH, new stocks in production ready for week of 24th came with SPI FLASH on board... the old argon can be update if necessary with a SPI flash, just solder it on PCB of argon... cost is very few like 0.5 USD... we will provide this kind of flash for selling to our users if they want... flash have easy pins to solde, about 1 min of works

3- INFECTUS2 hardware is the same like WASABI?
Well is much better, instead a flash of 128Kb it have 512kb with switches and all.. so  don't worry INFECTUS2 is 10 times powerfull than WASABI hardware.

4- DVD UPDATE FEATURE IS AVAILABLE ON INFECTUS2 and ARGON?
The "old" dvd update feature is supported in the new firmware... we will use this way to "soft" update of the modchip, but if is necessary to do a BIG change in the architecture of modchip to support new games and WII updates we can release new .DAT files and with JTAG you are full covered again all possible problems.
WASABI can only do a "soft" "partial" data update, ARGON and INFECTUS2 will have "soft" and "partial" data update and JTAG update... at same price!!!

5- Why ARGON and INFECTUS2 have 1 clock wire more than WASABI?
Simple, wasabi have an oscillator on board that miss in our project.. we need to keep the clock from the board of WII...

Yes! Cool!

Hopefully it will be bugfree because I'm awaiting my PIN-CLIP and then will install my Argon with the 9 wires and Wasabus firmware.

I'm not an installer so I'm just hoping it works the first time and hassle free
