im newbie so i don't know that much about the argon chip. i just got it install 1 week ago and undated my argon chip from fw 1.2 to 1.5, and my wii now won't read any games at all not even originals. And i den tried to downgrade it 1.3 (only available fw tht i cud dl) , after i dg it gave me the same problem. Now i can't play any game . My original fw was 1.2 but i can't find the fw 1.2 to reflash it. The Argon is working fine cause it makes that noise and when i put in the back up cd the blue light turns on.

Can some1 help me please.

The new firmware should work fine. It sounds like an install problem, perhaps the update was unsuccessful or a wire might have gotten lose. If you want to try the 1.2 Firmware again. Here is a link

YES it's working the fw 1.2 is working on my wii, but how comes the fw 1.3 n 1.5 doesn't work. Am i doing anyfink wrong, cause i've tried to update my chip 3 times to fw 1.5  but none of my games worked. Cud it be the programmer im usin is wrong (im using the new one the beta 2 onE) Any suggestion how i cud fix this.

Do you keep the programmer plugged into the flat cable?

Someone else was claiming originals and Backups didn't work either. The issue they said for them was leaving the programmer on the Flat Cable after the update. Taking the programmer off after the update fixed the issue.

So update to 1.5 then take the programmer off the Flat Cable then try playing the games.

I took the flat cable n i followed the step by step guide from this website, but it doesn't seem to be working. Cud it be because im using fw 3.1E on my wii.

Argon 1.6 firmware is out....     click on the argon link on the left side of the infectus home page. It is not in the download section yet, nor these forums yet.

The Wii firmware (3.1E) has nothing to do with the issue your having.

All i can tell you is install the Flat Cable Blue side up to the programmer (Blue side should be up on the Modchip as well).

Connect the Programmer to PC via USB (load USB device drivers when new hardware comes up which I will assume you already have).

Turn on the Wii.

Now start the Infectus Programmer on PC and go to TOOLS/OPEN INFECTUS.

Load the DAT 1.5 firmware update then select programmer.

It wil verify the 1.5 update then erase the firmware on the Modchip then write and verify the 1.5 firmware to the Modchip.

Now disconnect USB from programmer and unhook the programmer from the flat cable.

Now try your Original/Backups.

If you still have issues then it is more then likely an instillation issue of the Modchip.

I did all yu said n tried again wit fw 1.5 n 1.6, but the same results. FW 1.2 is not that great either. Do i need to change any settings on my wii, cause when i put the disc it tries to read it, but the disc cannot be read.

I did all yu said n tried again wit fw 1.5 n 1.6, but the same results. FW 1.2 is not that great either. Do i need to change any settings on my wii, cause when i put the disc it tries to read it, but it says UNABLE TO READ DISC I am using Philips  DVD+r and burn the games on speed x4 booktype as DVD-ROM worked on fw 1.2 fine. But i supppose the original disc shud be working

just updated my argon to 1.6 and reburned mario galaxy with 4 speed instead of 2.4 speed.
now the audio in the intro movie plays fine,so it was not an issue with the 1.5 firmware.

my gamecube minidisc 's still dont play.they dont even show up in the begin screen.
so i think it is an installation problem.

Try burning your Back ups on Verbatim dvd-r instead of those philips DVD'Rs. My TDK's are no longer recognized because they are cheap CMC Magnetics Media. The older 1.2 firmware might support those Philips Dvd+rs, and the new firmware which has been updated to read silvers, etc. may not like your back ups. Only use good media to back up your games.  Either use Taiyo Yudens , Verbatim, or Sony DVD's. Anything else is cheaper media, that will give you problems.

Forgot to add. You can use clone CD to make copies of your back-ups onto better media. Just in case you deleted your ISO's. Your computer can read DVD+-R's, so you can simply copy these with clone cd or another program, and put these on better media.

den wat he did was cause i asked i wanted region free he added the extra 4 wires for the regions from the diagram of this website. Here

now im confused wud that be the problem wheneva i try to go above 1.2 none of my games work. Cud some1 plz help me out of this and if possible give me a correct diagram or tell me if wat he done was rite. Unfortunately i can't get any pic of my wii
