Thanks for the release.

1) Is it necessary to add the 4 wires to use firmware 1.5 ?
2) Is it necessary to add the 4 wires to play GC games of same region (wii/game) ?

I have an odd issue.

Tried Super Mario Sunshine and it doesn't even load. If I play my multi-disc Super Mario Sunshine it boots and plays perfectly fine.

I use TY on my backups and tried re-burning the backup again. Still the same no boot on 1.35 backup but Multi-disc works perfectly fine. Both 1.35 backups work in another Wii with Wiikey.

Most of these things should have been fixed before the chip was released since all the updates so far are bug fixes. The 1.3 and up firmwares dont even run originals anymore and you have to reboot the console everytime you insert a disc.

As for the upgradeability i agree it is easy to upgrade the chip, all we need now is a firmware that does what was advertised in the beginning so we can install these in customer consoles and not have to tell them to come back when a stable firmware is released.

Why not contribute something positive to the thread instead of complaining about the firmware and saying most of it should already be fixed. Complaining about it isn't going to get a bug free fix out any sooner.

There was plenty of threads like yours in the 1.4 firmware thread I sure hope we don't have to read them here. Instead of bitching get off your but and test it out and be productive in the testing processes.

A wonder if there's a reason for all 'those threads' in the 1.4 topic...

This post was a result of testing it out so unknot your pants and get on with it.

Hi I tested with DVD silver of Cooking Mama and its working fine!
There were some read errors after some gameplay, and i think it should be my dvd's fault, as it had many scratches.

Secondly, I wonder if factory backups with golden die is any different from the silver ones. Argon still can't read all the GOLDEN discs though...

Hope it helps =)

There are still problems with 1.5 Update for Gamecube Compatibility.

The following Games do not work on a NTSC-U wii, with GC Back-Ups.

1) Prince of Persia - Sands of Time. Game boots, but then will not play, after prompting for a Memory Card.
2) Sonic Hero's - Game freezes after opening video.
3) Shawdow the Hedgehog- Game gives black screen
4) Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Reqiuem. Game loads, gets past the Edgar Allan Poe quote, BUT game will not play
5) Sonic Adventure DX- Game will not load- Black Screen
6) Mario Kart Double Dash - Green Screen { This is a PAL  game}
7) Super Smash Bros Melee- Black Screen, game does not load
Batman Begins- rawdump from the rental store. Freezes with batman logo in corner
9) Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Loads, but freezes when selecting stage or mode.
Games that did work.
1) Battle Stadium D.O.N. - worked great
2) Capcom VS SNK 2 - worked great.
3) Mario Kart Double Dash NTSC-U Version

These are all full Iso's. That are US version on a US wii

There is still alot of work to be done. Everyone please test your games. This means try and play at least one level. Some of the games load, but fail to play

Update: Tested some GCOS Games
GCOS - 3 Games  Animal Crossing (ntsc-u) won't load after nintendo screen; Soulcalibur 2 (pal) plays great!!!! Timesplitters (pal) green screen, but then game loads w/ EA Sports, then freezes at intro screen with red splotches on screen

Luigis mansion now loads with 1.5 but the game randomly freezes between 1-5 minutes, but at least it loads now! tried 2 different downloads of the game, both NTSC on NTSC console

version of img burn, i set the burning speed to 2.4x, works even with
wifi connection, no one was online to have a battle against.
