same way, except you wire up VCC and GND directly to the nand pins instead of the capacitor.

hi,

i have tried to flash an external (socketed) NAND with a previously dumped image. (the dumed image is 100% ok, reads fine with 360nandtool)

- infectus recognizes the nand
- i can erase the nand (message successful)
- i can dump the nand (message succesful)

BUT

when i try to write to it, i get 0x000000 write error.

when i turn of write verify i can write to it and when i dump that i get close to what i tried to write onto it, but only close...

i compared the files with a tool and it tells me its 98% the same.

now i wonder what might be wrong with it?!?!?

any ideas?

in the shorcut checker it tells me i have a short on PIN 8. what is pin 8???

thanks for your help!

Short cut checker work only with EMPTY fpga and unsoldered pcb. In other case it will give false short.

About the writting, may be you have a bad sector on your flash.

Only way to write it is disable the verify , but you already have disabled it. You can try giving a different power or use short cut but if the first block is damaged , you can't do any thing.

Hello again.

Got my infectus soldered and with the badflashfix.

But still i only get UNKNOWN (AAAA).

Does this mean that my NAND-chip is broken?

I never had my powercord plugged in while the badflashfix was soldered.

/Andreas

EDIT: if i remove the badflashfix and solder the infectus the regular way i get UNKNOWN (A822).

EDIT2: did a last atempt with external powersource (computer psu) and it worked! finaly my nand was recognized..=)

i was constantly getting A822 with this method, i found that (when tested with a multimeter) the ground was limited down to about 1.2v (when tested with 5v), i used this ground (to the infectus "gnd" point) and it worked:

also note i took 5v from pin 1 of the usb cable and wired the 3.3v spot to "V".
